Mattress Recycling
Professional Mattress Recycling
Whether you have a single mattress, multiple mattresses from your home, a bed and breakfast or a large hotel, our mattress removal and recycling service can assist.
How mattresses are recycled
Once the mattress has been delivered to the mattress recycler it is cut open and the trained staff can then identify the materials are inside the mattress. Depending what type of mattress you have, most mattresses have coiled springs inside which are removed and the metal is then baled and recycled. Around the springs there are usually a few layers of other fabrics and polymers which are there to add comfort to your mattress. These materials are removed layer by layer and segregated and sent to be recycled. The materials that can not be recycled are sent to create energy via a RDF site (refuse derived fuel) where it is incinerated to create electricity.

Mattress Recycling
If your mattress is stained, it might require a different type of recycling due to health and safety concerns. If this is the case then the mattress is still recycled using machines to extract the metals, plastics and polymers. The materials are sent for recycling or RDF to create electricity. We recycle all types of mattresses so please enquire and we will provide a mattress recycling quote. To book a collection please email us with your name, collection address, whether your mattress upstairs or down stairs, what size the mattress and how many you need collecting and recycling. We can then supply you with a no obligation mattress recycling quote.

- Around 22 million people in the UK admit to disposing of their mattress in under 7 years.
- Roughly 24% of mattresses are currently recycled so we still have a lot more work to be done.
- There could be around 350 million to 400 million mattresses in UK landfills, this is a wildly estimated guess and there could be many more, working on 7 million a year for the past 50 years.
